The unthinkable has actually happened for iPhone! Apple has finally given in and embraced the USB-C charging port. The indicated shift was palpable with Apple’s recent switch to USB-C for its iPad and its Mac computers. The EU law to mandate USB-C for consumer devices proved to be the last straw for the budge.
For almost 5 years now, Android handsets have utilized USB-C ports for charging and data transfer. USB-C distributes power at a rate of 100W/3A and up to 240W/5A which holds a complete advantage over Lightning’s 12W/2.4A. Consequent data transfer rate of speed is also notches better with 40Gbps over Lightning’s current 480Mbps.
Obviously, we’ll have to comply; we have no choice

The EU law requires companies to comply by 2024. Contrastingly, Apple intends to make the transition as soon as 2023 instead of resisting till they possibly can. Many of their products have already embraced the USB-C. The transition for the iPhone to the same should not have massive repercussions for the company.
