Last week, U.S. senators introduced a new bill that would protect the voice and visual likenesses of performers from unfair use via generative artificial intelligence (AI).
The bipartisan resolution known as the Nurture Originals, Foster Art and Keep Entertainment Safe Act–or NO FAKES Act–“would prevent a person from producing or distributing an unauthorized AI-generated replica of an individual to perform in an audiovisual or sound recording without the consent of the individual being replicated,” according to an announcement on Sen.
