We haven’t even crossed the half year mark and Meta is on it’s second round of layoffs this year, with slashing 6,000 jobs this time. This followed the social media firm cutting 4,000 jobs in April after announcing their larger plan in March to cut 10,000 jobs.
Chief executive Mark Zuckerberg said the layoffs come as part of the company’s ‘year of efficiency’. They plan to cut costs to monetize the metaverse, the virtual reality venture.
