Spotify launched its Mix feature for playlists last year, which lets users add custom transitions between tracks to create smoother playback, similar to DJ mixing. Now, Premium subscribers are getting Smart Reorder, a new tool that automatically rearranges songs in a Mixed playlist based on BPM and key for better flow.
Manually sorting tracks by tempo and key to avoid abrupt changes is time-consuming. Smart Reorder handles that automatically.
To use it: Open a playlist, enable Mix (or create a Mixed version), tap Edit, then select Smart Reorder at the bottom. It reorders the tracks accordingly—tap to apply and save.
