Plans to transform Detroit’s historic Packard Plant into a hub for electronic music culture have been put on hold following a shift in city leadership. The proposed $50 million redevelopment project aimed to convert part of the long-abandoned automotive factory into a mixed-use destination known as Packard Park. Central to the plan was the Museum of Detroit Electronic Music (MODEM), alongside affordable housing, public green space, and recreational facilities including an indoor skatepark.
