Reza Safinia has spent the last few years scoring TV shows and Nicolas Cage movies, so it’s easy to forget he’s also been quietly building toward one of the more ambitious electronic records of the year. Five years after his 2021 companion albums Yin and Yang — one all piano and cello, the other full-tilt electronic — Safinia is fusing both sides of his brain into a single double LP called 1/∞, due August 26. New single ‘Stardusted Girl‘ is the latest taste, and it’s a good one.
The track is falsetto-heavy synth-pop that can’t decide if it’s seducing you or warning you, which is sort of the whole appeal….
