AI’s footprint in music is growing fast, and a new study suggests it’s showing up in far more tracks than many fans might expect.
Music promotion platform SubmitHub recently analyzed more than one million releases using its AI detection tool, SH Labs. The results were eye-opening. According to the study, 23.2% of tracks released globally in July appeared to be fully AI-generated. Another 15.3% showed signs of AI-generated audio that was later modified or processed by humans. Combined, that means nearly 40% of all music released during the month involved AI in some capacity.
