Of all the things you might expect to find in the middle of Nevada’s Black Rock Desert, a broken Eiffel Tower probably isn’t one of them.
But that’s exactly what Burners are encountering this year.
Called Eiffela Broken Dream, the massive installation by French artist Philippe Maindron recreates one of the world’s most recognizable landmarks at approximately one-tenth of its original scale—except this Eiffel Tower looks like it crashed straight into the playa.
