The entertainment tech powerhouse that is Sony Interactive Entertainment announced it will stop making physical game discs for PlayStation. According to an article from Polygon, all PlayStation games will only be available digitally on the PlayStation Store and at retailers, starting in January 2028. This news follows Rockstar Games‘ decision to release Grand Theft Auto 6 as a digital-only title, with the physical version including a download code. It’s unclear if Sony will entirely drop physical sales or offer game boxes with download codes.
