Beatport rolled out a new standalone genre page called Indie Tech on October 1, carving out a dedicated home for the heavier, club-focused sound that had been growing inside Indie Dance over the past few years. The new category comes with its own genre page, a Top 100 chart, and a dedicated feature space for artists and labels working in the style.
The sound itself leans on punchy drums, prominent basslines, and bold synth hooks, pulling in influences from Tech House, Melodic House & Techno, Bass House, and Mainstage. Think driving grooves and seismic builds built for peak-time sets rather than the warm-up hour.
