While select venues continuously enforced strict no-photography rules, many welcomed the free publicity of social media by creating appealing photo installations and moments.
Now mainstream audiences and organizers are seriously pushing back. According to a report compiled by popular event platform and ticket vendor Eventbrite, no-phone event listings are up 567% between 2024 and 2025, with attendance up 121% worldwide.
