There is a particular kind of audacious idiot that belongs to those who move into the heart of a city, drawn by its energy, its edge, and its reputation, and then systematically try to dismantle the very things that made them want to be there in the first place. We have seen it in London. We have watched it happen in Sydney. And if we are not careful, we will keep losing the battle to a very small, very vocal, and frankly quite contemptible minority who believe that a city owes them silence, and that their personal preferences should be imposed on everyone else who lives and works and creates within it.
